Not-for-profit community group

Rendlesham Good Neighbour Scheme (RGNS for short) is a not for profit community group that exists to help us, the residents of Rendlesham, to help each other. We work to the principle that if you need a favour and don’t know who to ask it could be us. It is not charity in the traditional sense but a group of community minded people of all creeds and persuasions who use some of our spare time to assist others.
We are secular, non-political, and do not judge others for needing or
wanting help.

Everyday support for those in need

We are assisted by Community Action Suffolk, a not for profit organisation that promotes and supports community organisations and sustainability
in Suffolk. We were established in 2018 and went ‘live’ on 1 April 2019 (I know!) and have been running ever since. During this current Covid-19 episode our volunteers have really stepped up to the plate with grocery delivery and prescription collection.
RGNS is managed on a day to day basis by a couple of semi-retired people and governed by a small group of trustees.

Trained volunteers here to help

We also have accredited volunteers who are all DBS Checked and carry photo ID. We are trained in dementia awareness and safeguarding for adults and children.

We also have a page on facebook called Rendlesham Community Neighbour Scheme for our supporters and interested people who want to know what is
going on.
What we do. We will assist in any way we can if it is legal, physically possible and does not conflict with our values.
